37 week doctor appt ~ 5-25-10

We are 37 weeks and 2 days. We went to the doctor today and are 1 cm dilated. A few appointments ago I discussed with the doctor trying to have Baby Payne 2.0 naturally rather than by c-section IF I went into labor before 39 weeks. He said it was a possibility.

Today, he brought it up again as he was filling out the paperwork for the c-section. So, if I am dilated more next week it will be up for discussion again. However, if we make it to 39 weeks, on Monday June 7th we will go in for a c-section. I don't want a c-section AT ALL but want to have as much of the summer as possible with him and Cameron. If for some reason I were to try to have him naturally on my own when he decides to make his debut and he didn't come out then we would be facing a c-section and have less time during the summer to be home with my two boys.

So, all said, we are still waiting to see what happens...Stay Tuned...

Cousin Stephanie's wedding ~ 5-22-10

A Big Congrats goes out to Cousin Stephanie. We added another Michael to the family on Saturday. Unfortunately since they live in Atlanta we were not able to make to trip to the wedding.

Stephanie and Michael I hope you have MANY, MANY, MANY years of happiness.

I hope you don't mind me adding the picture. Can't wait to see more.

Baby Payne 2.0 ~ 5-22-10

It's SO hard to believe that in a little more that 2 weeks Baby Payne 2.0 will be here! I can't wait to meet this little one. Things are just about ready for him in his room. We just have to finish getting the rest of the house ready and presentable for company the first 2 weeks after he makes his arrival.

Uncle Scott's Graduation ~ 5-21-10

We loaded up and drove to Austin for Scott's graduation from UT. We left about 10 on Friday morning and arrived about 2. We stopped and had lunch on the way and then about 30 minutes from our destination was stopped by the police for speeding (Michael) He was clocked at doing 65 in a 50 mph zone coming through a town. Not thrilled about that, but I guess it could have been worse.

Commencement was LONG, but well worth it.

Here Cameron is doing hook 'em horns with Daddy.

All the graduates. Scott is the one in the black cap and gown!

Gary was smart and brought a book to read for much of the graduation.

Cameron bounced between our laps and his chair during Commencement. He was really tired but wouldn't give into the urge to sleep. He was pretty good while waiting on Scott's name to be called. EXCEPT ~ he was trying to do hook 'em horns (which we have been practicing for WEEKS now.) Instead he started sticking up his middle finger and thought it was the funniest thing ever. It probably didn't help that when he did it I immediately told him it wasn't appropriate. Of course, when you tell a 3 year old not to do something ...he does it. He kept the people behind us quite amused by this. Let's just say Momma was the most embarrassed I've EVERY been.

Singing at the end!

Waiting on Scott to come out of the massive crowd of people. Thank goodness for cell phones or we would have NEVER found one another.
Scott with Janet.

Scott with Gary and his Flip recorder. Which I might add is supposed to be idiot proof. Well not him, he managed to NOT capture Scott's graduation!

Cameron with his newly graduated Uncle Scott.

Scott at the "backend" of the Bevo statue! Of course he had some snide remark about NOT being an a$$ anymore.

Posing in front of Bevo.

Scott and me and Baby Payne 2.0.

Scott with Michael and Mark.

Scott with Michael, Mark, and Cameron.

Cameron drinking some of Nana's coke at dinner. We had yummy bar-be-que from a place Scott had in mind.

The family posing before heading back to Houston.

CONGRATULATIONS SCOTT!!!!!!

WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU!!!!

36 weeks 1 day & Doctor's Appt~ 5-17& 5-18-10

Here's what 36 weeks 1 day looks like. Today I went to the doctor for my check-up. I lost a few pounds from being sick last weekend (and the nurse noticed), am measuring 35 weeks ( a week smaller than I am in weeks) and waited FOREVER while the doctor was seeing patients. It wouldn't have been so bad EXCEPT it was about 100 degrees in the exam room where I waited to be "checked." Turns out I am a fingertip dilated and everything is looking good. I'm convinced I will go into labor early, but can't get too discouraged if I don't. We'll wait and see!

My baby is heading off to school ~ 5-17-10

Cameron will be headed to Pre-kindergarten in the fall in a special program for employees kids and special education kiddos in our district. The teacher is one of my former kiddos' moms. It was a hand full of papers I had to fill in. Now I know what our parents feel like when it's registration time at our school.

Zoo ~ 5-17-10

The 6th grade math teachers at my school
decided to take some kiddos to the zoo. Since I'm department head and started the Zoo Project with the 6th graders a few years ago, I didn't feel bad saying I would love to go with them. Even though everyone had their doubts about me going into labor while there, I was given a substitute for the day!
Since I REALLY wanted to take Cameron to the zoo before the baby came I asked if I could drive my car and take Cameron with us. Fortunately I have a great principal to allow me to do just that. Cameron had a BLAST! Mommy didn't fare so well before lunch as it was hot and I should've had more water and food before I did. Thankfully after lunch I felt much better and we carried on with our day. Cameron got to spend a little more time at the zoo checking out the front entrance because we had a kid that decided to stray from the group. Let's just say he probably won't do that again!
Chilling in the wagon once inside the zoo!

Enjoying seeing the animals

Showing the Longhorns his longhorn sign

Cool monkeys hanging from the trees outside the monkey exhibit. Can't get away from the monkeys even away from school!

Getting cool by the mist fan. He wasn't sure what to think at first but figured out it was nice to be in front of it.

Crawling through an underwater tunnel with his new girl pal.

On one of our tickets there was a lion. We saw the lion but I guess it didn't look like this one. It was lying down and turned away from us. When we got around to the tigers Cameron walked over to our backpack and pulled out the ticket. Then walked back over to the fence and compared the ticket to what was behind the fence. He was so tickled to have found what he thought was on the ticket.

Then we went down to the other end and another tiger was sitting up looking at us. Cameron once again got the ticket out of the backpack and compared it to what was on the ticket. I thought it was absolutely adorable and made me feel great that he was reasoning so well. (even though it wasn't quite the creature on the ticket.) They did look similar!

Mommy and Cameron before leaving from the zoo. Happy Day for both of us. Mission accomplished!

All tuckered out on our way home. Notice the ticket that is sitting in his seat.

Nesting??? 5-16-10

So we've been busy getting things ready for the baby. On Sunday, I somehow got a burst of energy. Here's a list of what I was able to get accomplished:

  • Separated the baby clothes into boxes that are arranged by size and put them in Cameron's HUGE closet for safe keeping until the baby needs them
  • Vacuumed almost the entire house
  • Cleaned the couches - inside and out
  • Vacuumed the blinds in the master bedroom and Cameron's bedroom
  • Dusted the dressers
  • Put the baby bassinet into the master bedroom - for when company leaves
  • Moved stuff around in Cameron's dresser drawer and got rid of some of the things
  • Dusted Cameron's dresser
  • Moved Cameron's cloth diapers into his dresser from the baby's room
  • Moved some of Cameron's cloths down closer for him to reach them

I feel lots better that things are closer to being finished for company and the baby's arrival. Although there's still lots left to do!

Bottles, Bottles, and more Bottles ~ 5-15-10

I pulled out the bottles a week or so ago and finally got around to boiling everything and getting 1 step closer to being able to use the bottles if we should need them.

Mother's Day…And Oh, So Sick ~ 5-9-10

A Happy Mother's Day...or was it??? Unfortunately a stomach virus went around at the sitter. Cameron threw up on Friday morning, Saturday morning, and Saturday evening. Unfortunately, I ended up with the bug on Sunday and was out of commission. (Michael caught it later in the week.) For Mother's Day I was in bed ALL day and only awake about 3 hours total. Michael and Cameron went over and celebrated with Nana to wish her a Happy Mother's Day. Maybe I'll have a better day next year. Michael and Cameron gave me a clean kitchen and worked on laundry for my presents. Another present will come once the baby is born. Stay tuned...

Cinco De Mayo and Congrats to Michael ~ 5-5-10

Happy Cinco De Mayo!

Michael won a contest at work this last month. He had the most sales from the 20th to the end of the month. As a very pleasant surprise he got $500 to spend towards something he wanted...anything. Well a new tv for the bedroom has been on his "list" for a while. So while we had the opportunity we headed off in search of a tv. We ended up with a LED 40 inch tv for $365 our of OUR pocket. Can't beat that deal! Michael had to get creative with our existing tv armoire in the bedroom. Fortunately he was able to take the top of our armoire off until we find a new cabinet that sits a little higher.

34 weeks ~ 5-2-10

34 weeks - He is getting bigger!

New fans in the bedrooms ~ 5-2-10

We have been looking for a fan to go in the 3 bedrooms for quite a while now. It gets pretty warm in there without some air circulation. Plus it keeps our electricity bill down a bit. I finally looked up the "maker" of the two we have in the living room and master bedroom and to my delight found out it is a Texas company that carries them. We ordered them and they delivered them to Michael's work. Our plan was to install them on Sunday with the help of Janet and Gary, Michael's parents. The only flaw in our plan was that we only got 2 motors instead of 3. We were able to put 2 of them up and oh what I site for the 5 of us trying to put them up. The company came out and put the third one up for us since they didn't give us all the parts later in the week!

Helping Mommy fold towels and "Baby Brother's" Blanket ~ 5-1-10

Cameron has been a really big help getting ready for Baby Brother's arrival. Here he is folding towels and blankets. I hope he continues to help out! Any such luck???
