The Big Day ~ 6-17-10

Today's the Big Day. We are getting ready and about to head to the hospital. Here's the last pictures of the prego belly. Stay Tuned. We will post when Baby Payne 2.0 is here and we have settled into our room this afternoon some time.

Heading off to Nana and Papa's ~ 6-16-10

Nana came to pick Cameron up to stay with them for the night before Baby Brother is born since we have to get up so early. I spent the rest of the evening finishing my To-Do list. Before Michael got home I set up a date for us to go out to IHOP, it seems to be our favorite spot when Cameron is away at Nana's for the night. It was a relaxing dinner but we knew we had to get back to our final To-Do's before the BIG DAY. We finally got in bed about 11:30.

At the Library ~ 6-16-10

After I went to the hospital we went to the library to catch story time. Today a lady was there from the Houston Zoo talking about animals and the sounds they make and how they get around. Cameron really like it. He even got to touch a snake on his way out. Such a Big Boy!

1 day and counting ~ 6-16-10

Well, we are about at t-1 day and counting for Baby Payne 2.0 to meet us. We have to be at the hospital about 5:30 or 6:00 in the morning and surgery is scheduled for 7 am. A friend had her baby earlier this year and was in her recovery room by 7:45 with her little one. I am hoping it is the same way with us.

Today will be a busy day. Here's our list of to-do today.

  • Hospital for pre-op blood work
  • Cameron to the library for story time
  • Meeting our friends at the park to play
  • Take the recycling to be recycled
  • Wash clothes
  • Pack Cameron's bag to go to Nana's
  • Get all the things for us to take to hospital
  • Charge the camera and phones
  • Organize some of the garage (we got a new shelf yesterday to help get it organized)
  • Put baby car seat in the car
  • Oh ya...REST
Stay tuned for more later!

Fun boy ~ 6-14-10

I SO appreciate the little man that we have already and how great he is. Cameron has been a great big brother already. During our doctor's appointment today he kept asking, when it was over and I was upset, "Mommy, are you okay?" He really is a compassionate little boy.

After we got home he decided to ride his truck that holds his hot wheels down the driveway. He frequently does this when he and daddy are outside working, but today I was blessed to see him ride it down the driveway for the first time.

Stubborn already~ 6-14-10

Well this baby has decided to be stubborn. Our doctor appointment resulted in some decisions I hoped we would not have to make. Since, I am still only dilated to a 1 and baby is high we have scheduled a c-section for Thursday at 7 a.m. I'm not thrilled with this decision at all, but feel at least Baby Payne 2.0 will be here and we can start our summer vacation as a family. We'll keep you posted during the week and post pictures when he is here!

Interesting tidbits: Baby Payne 2.0 will share the same birthday as a wonderful friend of mine's son, Brandon

Cameron was born on the 7th (February)
Baby Payne 2.0 will be born on the 17th (June)
Michael was born on the 27th (February)

Got to find some positive in all this somehow!

Swiming ~ 6-13-10

We went over for swimming and dinner at Nana and Papa's. Here are some pics from our fun. Cameron is becoming a real fish!

Due Date ~ 6-13-10

Today is my actual DUE DATE, 6-13-10. We are 40 weeks today. Hopefully Baby Payne 2.0 will make a debut SOON although he doesn't show signs of coming out to play. Stay Tuned!

New Chair ~ 6-12-10

A great friend I work with, Cheryl, is letting us borrow their rocker glider chair. I looked for one for a while but just couldn't find one that was "Just right." My in-laws found a beautiful rocker glider when we went looking and Gary scooped it up for THEIR house to rock the baby. Although it was REALLY nice and comfy, I just couldn't bring myself to purchasing one. Fortunately, Cheryl surprised me a few days ago and even brought it over for us. Thanks Cheryl and Craig! Can't wait to try it out with Baby Payne 2.0.

Last supper??? ~ 6-11-10

Mommy was craving some shrimp so we decided to go to Red Lobster for dinner. Nana and Papa joined us and it was YUMMY! We thought it may have been my "last supper" as Papa asked. I had been having contractions and cramping since about 2:30 yesterday afternoon. But...nope. Things subsided after getting home from Kohl's after dinner. I really thought we might be headed to the hospital. Cameron and I are happy to have some leftovers for lunch.

More Cooking ~ 6-11-10

I had to use the remainder of the chicken that we cooked earlier in the week, that we got on sale! So I made two chicken tortilla casseroles. I had to improvise a little because I forgot the chilies so I substituted rotel and some jalapenos. Michael and Cameron should enjoy the spiciness . Hopefully it's not too spicy or the baby may not like it!

I think I'm done cooking for a while. Sigh...

More books ~ 6-10-10

We went back to the library for story time and picked up some more books. We read 8 books in 2 days and Cameron is really enjoying going to the library. Here he is showing off his books!

Helping Mom cook ~ 6-9-10

Cameron did a great job helping me in the kitchen today. I continued my cooking addiction. I figure since this baby is not making an appearance I should do something to keep myself occupied.

We cooked:
  • two 9x13 lasagna's
  • two chicken pot pie's
  • two chicken and rice casseroles
The mixer Michael bought for Christmas sure has been put to great use! I still have a few more casseroles I would like to make before this baby comes. I wouldn't hurt my feeling ANY if this baby decides to come BEFORE I finish the casseroles! :)

Story time at the library ~ 6-9-10

Cameron and I went to the local public library today and met some friends for story time. They had a lady who held a "black light puppet show." It was pretty neat and it certainly held all the kids attention even for 45 minutes. We are doing the summer reading program and checked out books, which is our first time for Cameron. Here's the books we checked out, Cameron napping on the couch after lunch, and showing his dinosaur he got after story time.

Anyone have a guess ~ 6-10-10

I thought I would see if anyone wanted to guess Baby Payne 2.0's stats. If you would like to post his birthday, weight, length, and time you think he might be born. You don't have to guess all the items if you wish.

Happy guessing!

OB update & 39 weeks 2 day belly ~ 6-7 & 6-8-10

We had our OB visit on Monday at 39 weeks 1 day. He thinks my pelvis is small and we may end up in another c-section. However, he said that he also has had great success with small pelvis' given time where other OB's would want to do a c-section. I'm measuring 38 weeks and the doctor is estimating Baby Payne 2.0 to be OVER 7 lbs. We'll have to see. Anyone want a guess at a weight??? Here's my belly at 39 weeks 2 days.

We had our c-section originally scheduled for Monday, 6/7. It was quite strange on Monday to not be going to the hospital to have a baby. Hopefully he will come very SOON!!!

In the mean time I would like EVERYONE to know that we will call/text/email everyone when Baby Payne 2.0 decides to make his debut. It's nice having everyone check on us EVERY day but rest assured we will post when we have a new bundle of joy!

Swimming and watermelon ~ 6-6-10

We went over to Nana and Papa's to swim and relax. Michael prepped a brisket and Janet and Gary cooked it overnight for us so we wouldn't have to get to their house so early. Michael made his famous twice baked potatoes and his cheddar biscuits. We added a salad and watermelon. Cameron enjoyed the watermelon so much that he turned the bowl up and drank the juice when he had eaten the last bit of watermelon! He's the only boy that we know of that we have to say "you have to eat your meat and potatoe before you can have more black olives and tomatoes!" And yes we had to say that.

Cooking for the future ~ 6-6-10

I've been cooking like crazy in preparation for having this baby. We have everything pretty much ready and so cooking seems to be something that I can do to pass the time and have food for us for weeks to come. I made a large and two small lasagna's and a taco bake. I have the ingredients for some chicken pot pies, chicken noodle casserole, and chicken and wild rice casserole that I will be making this week also. Just hoping I get them all made BEFORE the baby comes so the fresh ingredients go bad.

Chinese Medicine ~ 6-4-10

In an effort to encourage this little bambino to come our of his warm, comfy environment the two of us went for acupuncture. It was definitely a new experience. There were about 10 needles used and it took a little over an hour for the entire experience. I had contractions for a lot of the evening and they even got pretty close together for about 2 hours before I fell asleep. But I got up about 2:00 for the dogs and the contractions were gone. Oh, well. At the very least hopefully it helped get me to relax to dilate and get things moving along.
