For 3 years now I've applied for the Teach for Texas Loan Repayment Program. Since I teach in a high-need area and in a low income school the program assists in paying back a portion of my student loans. After I qualify and as long as a re-apply each year I continue getting the assistance for 4 years.I called earlier in the year to find out if I qualified last year and was told no. Then I received an unexpected envelope in the mail. Much to my surprise it was a check made out to me and my loan holder. I am SUPER excited. I've already sent in my paperwork for this next year and spoke to someone the other day that told me they already had received everything.
This years application is being "reviewed" to make sure I still qualify. SUPER excited! Now hopefully I can get the loans paid off sooner rather than later. What will we do with the extra funds???
