Happy Thanksgiving ~ 11-24-11

We hope you have a wonderful day with
family, friends, and food.

Bowling with Friends ~ 7-7-11

A few friends and I made a calendar of outings and things for us to do this summer with the kids. Bowling was one of the many things on the list. We had a great time and Cameron is a hoot at bowling.

The ball is almost as big as Cameron.

Heading for the gutter, oh no!

Oh wait, we had the bumper rails up and he knocked down all but 2!

And then he knocked down the other 2!

Crazy kid.

Braydon watching the action.

And admiring Miss C.

Just a few more to knock down...

Such a great stance. We could call this yoga bowling.

Then we tried the ball helper, or whatever that thing is called.

And away it goes...

And ALLLLLL of the pins are knocked down! Lucky kid.

Braydon chilling and having a grand old time.

I just had to get a picture of the score. Cameron 48 and Mom 116, not too shabby for either of us.

We can't wait to go again!

New Food, Ice Cream, and Bathing bishop ~ 7-6-11

We had a nice dinner and Braydon explored corn on the cob. I think it was a success.

We enjoyed some ice cream after dinner and Cameron hasn't quite grasped the concept that ice cream MELTS. So, we had a mess on the table and floor.

The boys 'helping' dad give Bishop a bath. Of course they could only look rather than get the dog bath stuff on their hands.

New skills ~ 7-5-11

Cameron has really taken to his scooter. Now that we are taking more walks in the evenings he likes to ride it along with us. Problem is he really hasn't gotten the hang of it yet and swerves all over the place. He rides it a few seconds and then almost crashes. But with everything there is a learning curve and he is getting the hang of it. Not to mention Dad and I are reliving some childhood memories!

Show off!

Braydon has picked up a new skill also, swinging a bat! Look out this kid might be headed to the majors!

Who would have ever thought the carrot bat that Cameron got from the sitter when he was Braydon's age would still be in good condition!

As you can see Bishop, our dog, has run and hidden in hopes he has ran far enough into his cage.

Braydon's first Haircut ~ 7-5-11

We figured it was about time for Braydon to get his first haircut. The goal was to wait until he was at least a year. By then he was looking pretty shaggy and then finding the time to get to the barber with the entire family was another trick.

Before going to the barber. The look on his face is one of many!

All caped up and ready, but not quite sure about what was about to happen.

Half smile

Such a handsome boy.

And then the cutting and tears began.

You would have thought we were hurting him. Look at those cute 2 front teeth.

Almost done!
After Braydon, it was Daddy's turn. Then they had to admire themselves in the mirror.

The beginning of some yummy food ~ 7-4-11

When I went out to the garden I was delighted to see some food beginning to grow.

Our first okra and cucumber!

First Okra

First Cucumber

We brought home some watermelon from our festivities yesterday. It's one of the boys favorite foods and they enjoyed another day of enjoying it.

Cameron could eat his weight in watermelon and fruit for that matter.

I think his faces tell is all.

Momma's birthday ~ 7-3-11

We spent our usual Sunday's at The Payne's. It was an extra special since we were celebrating my birthday on July 5th.  This year was especially difficult. My mom passed away 8 days after her 33rd birthday. Although unfounded fear, the fear of that happening to me was definitely felt. Rationally I know that I don't have rheumatoid arthritis like my mom, or had pneumonia 3 times in the last year, or taking steroids and anti-cancer drugs for treatment, but the fear was still there. It seemed like a weight had been lifted as the time passed by.

To pass the day we enjoyed lounging in the pool, opening presents, eating good food, and enjoying great company.

The boys having fun in the pool.

Braydon enjoying a bottle of milk in a cool pool. What a way to enjoy the day.

Cameron helping me blow out the candles.

Mmmm, carrot cake, my favorite.

Wishing many more years for happiness and spending my special day with the one's I love.

The boys being silly ~ 7-2-11

The boys having fun as usual. Never a dull moment around here.

Braydon ~12.5 months

"Want my bottle? I'll share even though it's empty."

"Brother has it now. What in the world is he doing?"
I guess he's giving his teeth a try...

"There's the good stuff!"

Now who's trying to be silly?

Cameron's first trip to Movie theater to watch Cars 2 ~ 7-2-11

Michael and I decided it was time to try to take Cameron to the movie theater. So we dropped Braydon off with Nana and headed off to the theater. The big debate was 3-D or not. With the added cost and need to wear the 3-D glasses I didn't think it was the best idea. But Michael was totally in favor of the 3-D. We settled on no 3-D and then it was sold out when we arrived. So we waited around for the 3-D of...

I would love to say that we had a wonderful time, but sadly I can't quite say that. Cameron needed to get up to go to the restroom 3 times during the movie, the seat wouldn't stay down for him to sit easily, and he had absolutely NO interest in wearing the glasses. Not to mention I could stay awake when I was sitting down. So, we might wait a little while longer before trying to see a movie again.

Below is Cameron playing with his helmet he has had for quite a while. Who says broken toys aren't just as much fun as non broken toys?!?

Who says broken toys aren't just as much fun as non broken toys?!?

And then of course he wanted mommy to do the same so he could take picture.
