Milk Run thru ~ 12-30-10

Since I was heading to Dallas for New Year's Eve I made plans to meet with the recipient who is receiving our milk. I found the recipient and our last recipient on Milkshare. It's a great place for donors and recipients to connect. The night before I left I packed everything into coolers and made sure it all fit. I personally donated 856 oz this trip for a total of 2556.5 oz from the time I started. The recipient's family was very grateful and it warms my heart to know I am able to help out. For those who might be wondering why I am donating breast milk...The baby I donate to is adopted and her mom wants to give her the very best. Other moms may not produce enough and need to supplement their own with donor milk or some can't produce any or enough to sustain their baby. It's been very rewarding!
