Sprink Break Day 3 ~ 3-14-11

The last day we were in Gilmer at the fishing cabin it was pretty frigid. Braydon and I stayed inside most of the morning.
Daddy and his boys.

Silly Daddy.

Our bed that we had to jump into. The side table is not short. Fortunately they had a step stool, otherwise I would have not been able to get into the thing. I regressed to my childhood days when I was afraid of falling off the bed!

Gary and Janet's "normal" bed.

Take a good look at the bath tubs...it's a watering trough. It was certainly NOT the easiest thing to climb into either.

And the sinks were buckets.

Papa and Cameron trying to feed Buttercup.

Even after Buttercup getting a little testy Papa still tried to feed her. Silly man!

Gary, Janet, Cameron, and the dogs went for a walk. They started out taking the same path we took the day before. And the cows had taken that path both days we had been there.
Then for some strange reason the cows went around the other direction over the dam.

And the group decided they better not cross paths.

Cameron all ready to go out on the boat. No one said that the cold weather should stop you.

Driving the boat.

Papa patiently waiting with Maggie.

Daddy with the catch of the day getting ready to prepare dinner.

I thought Cameron would be traumatized by the preparation of dinner. I even told him right before Michael starting cutting that it would be best to come inside but no, he was all about watching.

For you to realize just how outdoorsy we are, picture this. Michael has all the fish, picks one to start with, puts the others back, then he gets his cell phone with minimal coverage and looks up "How to fillet a catfish." Sound fishy? Then he hands the phone to me and says, play the video and tell me what to do! What?!?!?!? It was an interesting ordeal to which we got BARELY enough catfish to eat for dinner. The main problem besides our lack of knowledge was a knife that would cut anything!
(Oh, and I had to go out and try to get more fish off the skin, SO gross!)

Above is a picture of the bathroom sink. The kitchen sink was the same, just bigger. I took advantage of the spot and took pictures of Braydon and Cameron.

And here's Cameron!

Cameron trying out the catfish we all worked so hard to acquire.

Here is Braydon ready to party at 1:30 in the morning. We had planned to in Gilmer and drive back on Tuesday, but after some discussion we (actually Michael preference) thought it best to drive back at night about 9 so that the boys and I would sleep, thus making a more peaceful drive. Well, that's not exactly how it went. We had 2 cranky boys that slept and woke off and on which didn't make for a very pleasant drive for any of us. Then we get home and BOTH boys were awake. I guess we will be driving in the light next time! Lesson learned.
