Making our way to San Antonio ~ 7-22-11
Here's Cameron helping us carry things up to the hotel room.
Braydon happy to be out of the car and ready to move.
After getting checked in and getting everything to our room, we headed off to the Riverwalk for dinner.
Daddy with his boys while we waiting to be seated for dinner. We sat under the umbrellas you can see in the background. The bad part is that there was NO light except a tiny candle on our table that our waiter FINALLY found a lighter to light. Not really sure what we might have eaten that night!
Crazy boys!
We got to Sea World about 9:30. After getting the stroller all packed up and everyone lathered with sunscreen we made our way to the front gate. When we were almost to the gate I talked to Cameron about what to do IF he got lost. I asked him what his mommy and daddy's names were and he said "Mommy and Daddy," go figure. So I told him, "If you get lost or can't find us you need to go up to someone who works at Sea World and tell them you can't find you Mommy and Daddy." I felt good. I told him what to do JUST IN CASE he was lost. It's a big place I thought, we will be watching him like a hawk and making sure he is right with us. He is a great kid and always stays close. (Back to this soon.)We had a great day.
We went to a kids play area that had rides and HUGE jungle gym. I went up the cargo net with Cameron while Daddy and Braydon stayed below. Once we got up the cargo net we crawled through some tunnels that were SO high off the ground that it freaked me out. We wound around and eventually came down the slide by the cargo net. Cameron asked if he could go up and I told him "you can go up but make sure you come RIGHT down the slide." I turned around to say something to Michael and the next thing I know I turn around and Cameron is NO WHERE to be found. After a minute or two I went up the cargo net, looked around and nothing. I crawled through the tunnels high off the ground and nothing. I went around and got back to the slide and cargo area and nothing. I was freaked out at this point. I called Michael and told him I could not find Cameron and to find someone to help us locate him. I came back down to wait were we were standing just in case Cameron came back and nothing. Michael went to go find someone. He went into the gift shop nearby and told them he couldn't find Cameron, showed them his picture, and they told him they would page Cameron to come to the microphone. REALLY?!?! How in the world will Cameron find where they are talking on the microphone. Panic had set in and the horrible feeling of not seeing Cameron again. I will tell you there can't be many feelings worse than the thought of not seeing your child. Thankfully, a few minutes later - what seemed like an eternity - Michael came walking up with Cameron. I finally took a breath, hugged Cameron, and cried tears of relief that my baby was with us. Being gone from us for about 10 minutes was FOREVER!
We tried to get Cameron to take a picture of myself with Michael and the only thing he captured was our laps to our feet. So, we had a VERY nice couple who offered to take our picture. This was the best even thought Braydon isn't looking. Maybe next time.
We tried to get in bed early so we could get out to Sea World early to make a day of things. Braydon decided differently. We had his pack and play but without him in another room to go to sleep, he cried and cried. I was afraid to let him cry for more than a few minutes so I put him in bed with me. I was afraid he would wake the neighbors and who wants that when you are in a hotel?!? THEN, about 2:00 am he decided he was awake and ready to start his day. At 2 am?!?!? I tried to feed and give him milk, but he was wide awake and ready for the day. He didn't go back to sleep until 4:30, FINALLY. I was so exhausted but we were up and out the door by 8 so we could get our complimentary breakfast before hitting the road.

We went to the aquarium first.
When Cameron would get tired he would try to sit with Braydon in the stroller, but as you can tell from the picture Braydon did not want Cameron near him. I don't blame him, it was H...O...T, hot!
Then saw the Beluga whales, Pacific white sided dolphins, and birds.
After some lunch we caught the Canary Street Caper - a sea lion
comedy show and saw some penguins, sharks, and fish.
Cameron actually enjoyed feeding the sea lions. We were shocked he actually touched the fish!
Then we were off to the water park to cool off.
Then we had to go see Shamu - where Cameron and Daddy got
soaked by sitting down too close to the tank.
Momma and baby.
All smiles after the show.
Cameron and I rode a ride.

Thankfully I have a really smart kiddo and I'm not just bragging. Turns out he went up the cargo net, through the tunnels, and somehow got turned around and went down another big cargo net on the opposite side of where we were standing. He couldn't find his way back so he went into the gift shop, told the workers he couldn't find his mommy and daddy. They paged an security guard to assist with him. A few minutes later Michael came upon them and brought him back to where Braydon and I were waiting. Trust me when I say you never want to loose your child, EVER!
After we relaxed for a few minutes we made our way over to Beluga whales, Pacific white sided dolphins, and birds again. This time the show was much more amazing than the one we saw earlier in the morning. Unfortunately, Braydon didn't want to cooperate. He was VERY tired and didn't want to be held, nor wanted to be in the stroller.
After the show we went to get our pressed penny of Shamu and to the giftshop to find Cameron a shirt. When we walked in the guy behind the counter called Cameron by name. I was stunned. How did he know Cameron's name? Turns out the guy was the employee that Cameron went into tell he was lost. What a relief that Sea World has such great employees.
I don't think the tires were rolling before the boys were out in the back seat.
Seeing the sites and heading home ~ 7-24-11
Michael gave me a wrapped box with a beautiful pearl in it. I was a bit confused as there was not necklace or loop for it to hang off of something. Then Michael told me that he had contacted a local jeweler to craft a butterfly pendant for me with the boys birthstones. So romantic and thoughtful.
After getting ready we packed up, had breakfast, and headed to the River Walk to take a tour. We saw this as we loaded up the car. Not sure why this was in the parking lot, but Michael and I have always talked about a camper. Wouldn't this be cool to own?!?!?
This is a hotel that I have always admired. Mostly because it's on the River Walk and I've always wanted to stay there. I think it is La Mansion. I'll dream for one day staying there.
Statue of St. Anthony of Padua on the River Walk.
And Daddy with Cameron as we walked back to the car.
We had a wonderful time on our trip. Hopefully we can take another family trip next summer. Until then, back to reality!
