Such tragic news ~ 1-23-12

For most women the happiest time of their life is being pregnant, knowing you are bringing a life in the world, and being changed forever. A few days after Christmas I learned a dear friend was pregnant. While there was much rejoicing, there was a hidden sadness not everyone saw. Some genetic testing had revealed a possible concern with the baby. On my way to school tonight I received a phone call that the baby had Trisomy 16. I was incredibly sad about the news. These dear friends don't deserve this.

They deserve a baby...
born healthy
growing up big
and strong

A baby who will long outlive his or her parents.

After I got home, I began researching Trisomy 16. Unfortunately it was not great news.

It's at times like these that one doesn't exactly know what to do...say...think...or feel.
