My baby brother gets married! ~ 5-6-11

After heading from our hotel, we headed over to Michael and Kaci's place. We figured out a game plan for the day. Michael went with my brother, Michael to set up for the wedding and reception. The boys and I ran errands with Kaci and made sure she was ready for her big day.

After some confusion/misunderstanding/drama everyone was on the same page and now attending the wedding. At 2:00 the time was drawing near. As my Dad and step-mother went to hand out the flower girl dresses they figured out that what they thought was the dresses was in fact not. So, my dad with his lead foot flew home and finally arrived back with the dresses. Remarkably the wedding did not start off too late.

I had volunteered to take pictures at the wedding since Michael and Kaci were not sure their photographer was going to be able to make the wedding. It was my first experience photographing any important occasion and thankful I wasn't the sole person responsible for the pictures.

Michael and Kaci were married at the Pavillion on Lake Gladewater. As a child our family spent tons of time a few hundred yards from where they were married.

Inside the pavillion was a birds nest. One might think it would be good luck to have a bird build a home where you wedding and reception is held and others may hope to not get pooped on during the course of the days events!

Cameron as a ring bearer. As he sees me he yells, "Hi Momma." Warmed my heart as he was so proud.

Kaci - a beautiful bride.

Michael and Kaci incorporated the sand ceremony where the mothers start by pouring sand and then the bride and groom continue pouring the sand to symbolize two separate people becoming one in marriage. Unfortunately, the funnel was forgotten. So, I suggested one be crafted with a pocket knife and top of a water bottle. There has to be at least something that's memorable and out of the ordinary about the day. :)

Susan brought a picture of my brother, Justin, and a rose to place on a seat to mark his spot. His life was cut short. While we had a small remembrance of him he is always held in our hearts as we go about our daily lives. It would have been complete to have him there with us that day but I know he was with us in spirit.

The entire wedding party.

My brothers, William and Michael, along with a childhood friend, Cory. Man, can I tell you stories about these 3!

The topper on the cake was a "ball and chain."

Michael picked up a bottle of champagne for the bride and groom to toast. BUT...

the reaction on the face as they tasted it was priceless!

My brother, William, and his fiance, Bobbie caught the garter and bouquet. Doesn't that mean they HAVE to be next? Still waiting to hear a date!

My dad with Braydon.

They were too cute together. Good luck getting him to walk!

All in all the day was great. At the end of the day, I have a new sister-in-law and I am thrilled.

I wish them many years of wedded bliss and the wisdom to treat one another with love, respect, compassion. Marriage is a give and take path filled with peaks and valleys along the way.

It's crazy to think my baby brother is MARRIED!
